DU Recognized by SDSU Alumni for it’s “Building Better Men” Program

Receiving praise and recognition for our high standards among fraternities at San Diego State, Delta Upsilon was featured in the recent SDSU Alumni newsletter. Our fraternity was chosen specifically by staff writer Hallie Jacobs to showcase our world-class leadership programs, character development and commitment to community service:

The gentlemen of the international Delta Upsilon fraternity are combating the modern fraternity man stereotype by creating a comprehensive plan that ensures members are poised to become leaders.

As questions concerning the collegiate value of fraternities continue to circulate among academic communities, DU is spearheading the charge for Greek relevancy and virtue with its Building Better Men initiative.

The involvement of our alumni continues to be a crucial factor in everything the chapter does and we owe much of this recognition to the contributors to our local scholarship fund.

Indeed, we’ve come a long way. It has been difficult, but rewarding work to get to this point. It is highly regarded among alumni who’ve worked closely with the chapter over the past several years that the difference has been our ability to finance a larger undergraduate contingent to annual and semi-annual leadership training. The importance of such training cannot be overstated.

We encourage our alumni to continue to contribute to these rewarding programs as the benefits have become glaringly evident. The SDSU article validates the progress we’ve made, underscoring the impact of your donations.

But we’re far from finished. In fact, we’re at a very critical juncture and need to support the chapter more than ever. Rush numbers are up, grades are up and the chapter is on it’s way to becoming a dominant force at SDSU once again—and now we have the recognition to show for it.

Please consider contributing to the DUEF by going directly to our scholarship page here. All contributions are important, regardless of size. We must continue to send as many actives to leadership training as we can so that we are able to sustain the great momentum we’ve worked so hard to achieve.
